Bank of America BankAmeriCard Better Balance Rewards Intro and Quarterly Bonus Strategy

Update 7am 6/26/15: there is an even easier way to charge your BBR CC with Amazon Allowance, read this post to learn more.

(Hat Tip to Stefan @ Rapid Travel Chai)

Good morning everyone, I recently converted from a Bank of America Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card to a Bank of America BankAmeriCard Better Balance Rewards Credit Card (BBR CC).  Why?  With the BBR CC, you can earn up to $120 per year in cash back.  How?  Every quarter (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec), you can earn a $25 bonus when you make 1 qualifying purchase per statement period (aka month) and paying your bill in full.  If you are a Bank of America customer (checking, saving, or Merrill Lynch account), you will get an extra $5 bonus per quarter.  So if you are a Bank of America customer and make all the qualifying purchases, you will make $120 per year.  If you are not a Bank of America customer, but you do make all the qualifying purchases, you will make $100 per year.

Check Bank of America’s BankAmeriDeals for Targeted Spending Offers

Good morning everyone, TGI Friday!  A few days ago, I was reminded by my friend W. to check my BankAmeriDeals that were linked to my Bank of America online account.  Similar to AMEX Offers, BankAmeriDeals are usually cash back deals from various merchants.  To view your BankAmeriDeals, log into your Bank of America online account and click the Special Offers & Details tab at the top of the page.  These offers are targeted based on your spending behavior, so your offers may differ from mine.  Here are the current BankAmeriDeals for my account:

Guest Post: Macerich Visa Gift Card Purchases Posting as a Cash Advance

Good morning everyone, my friend Nigel has written another great guest post for me.  If you are unfamiliar with NIgel, he has written a few other guest posts as well:

Without any further ado, take it away Nigel…

Year to date, I’ve already MS’d $125,000 worth of VGCs between my two local Macerich Malls.  Grant calls me a heavy-hitter, but I call myself a savvy MS’er.  There are people out there that cycle that amount or more in a single month.  In my experience, Macerich Malls are easier to do business with than Simon Malls, so I typically find myself at the Macerich customer service desk twice a week to purchase several VGCs.   Continue reading

March App-O-Rama Updates: US Airways, British Airways, Alaska Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and FlexPerks AMEX

Good morning everyone, happy April Fool’s Day.  No pranks today for me, I don’t have time for those.  Before I went on my RV road trip, I did a mini App-O-Rama in mid March and it’s been almost 2 weeks, so I can now share all my results.  If you have been reading my blog for a while, you probably know about my ongoing battle with Barclays.  I have applied for 5-6 Barclays credit cards over the last 2 years or so and have been denied every time.  Since the Barclays US Airways Credit Card is going away very soon, I thought I would try for that card one more time.  The sign up bonus is 50,000 US Airways miles (now those are 50,000 American Airlines miles) after your first purchase.

Good evening everyone, I have a collection of random news to share.  To start off, here are a bunch of new AMEX Offers that showed up in my account: Umami Burger, Hay Needle, Swanson Health Products, Maria’s Italian Kitchen, and Stuart Weitzman.  I have only heard of Umami Burger, but never tried it out.  Hopefully some of these offers are useful.
