Welcome Back TWG Subscribers – I Fixed My Newsletter!

Good evening everyone, I hope your week is going well.  A few days ago, I noticed that my newsletters were not being sent out to subscribers.  After doing some digging, I found out that the last 2 newsletter emails that went out were on November 3 and December 19.  I’m not sure what happened to the newsletters for all of the other days :/

I fixed the issue, so my newsletters should be scheduled to go out at 5pm PT every day that I have a new post.  Scroll to the bottom of the post to see a list of all the blog posts you may have missed if you haven’t visited my site in the last few months.

Use AMEX Business Platinum $360 Indeed Credit on Resume Help, Career Coaching, Pay Negotiation & Interview Prep ($35 – $95)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  I was reading Frequent Miler’s post about Amex Business Platinum benefits scheduled to end 12/31/24 and learned that the $360 Indeed Benefit from the American Express Business Platinum Card could be used toward Indeed Career Services, not just for employers looking to hire new employees.  Thanks to bullmeister in the FM comments for the heads up. I went down the rabbit hole and learned that Indeed has several career services, such as Resume Help, Career Coaching, Pay Negotiation & Interview Prep that range in price from $35 to $95.  Theoretically, you could pay for 2 services ($35 + $55 = $90) to use up the $90 quarterly credit.  I’m happily employed and not looking to switch careers anytime soon, but these services (free after using the Indeed Credit) could be useful for others.  Read on to learn more.

To get started, you will need to sign into your American Express online account, go to the Indeed Benefit, and enroll in the Business Platinum Indeed Benefit.

Attention Coinstar Users: Not All Kiosks Offer Amazon eGift Cards

Good evening everyone, happy Friday!  Last weekend, I visited my grandfather down in Southern California and he gave me a bag of change.  He likes to keep his change and give it to me whenever I visit him.  This is how I got into coin collecting (numismatics) when I was younger, but that’s a story for another day.  Anyway, whenever I have a bag of change, I take it to my local grocery store and put it in the Coinstar kiosk and select an egift card (there are no fee for egift cards).  During my recent Coinstar visit, I was surprised to see that Amazon was not listed as an egift card option.  After doing some digging, I learned that not all Coinstar kiosks offer Amazon egift cards and some stores offer very few egift card options.  Here is what I learned…

Test Driving MaxRewards App: Load Same AMEX Offer to Multiple AMEX Cards

Good evening everyone.  A few weeks ago, a friend of mine told me about the MaxRewards app.  The app has a ton of cool features, but the feature that was the most interesting to me was the ability to load the same AMEX Offer onto multiple AMEX credit and charge cards.  Back in the day, you could open each AMEX card in its own tab, scroll down to the AMEX Offers section and add the same AMEX Offer to each and every AMEX card that had the offer.  Unfortunately, AMEX killed that trick and now you can only load the AMEX Offer to 1 AMEX card, no matter how many AMEX cards you have that display the offer.  Once the offer was loaded to the first card, it could not be loaded to any more cards.

This is where MaxRewards comes in.  They have the magical ability to load the same AMEX Offer onto all of your AMEX cards that display the offer.  For example, if you have 6 AMEX cards that all display the same Office Depot AMEX Offer, MaxRewards is able to add the offer to all 6 AMEX cards.  Here is how it works.

PSA: Email Capital One Shopping if $200 Referral & Sign Up Bonus are Missing (Bonus Received Within 3-4 Hours)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great MLK Jr. Weekend.  Back in December, Capital One Shopping increased their referral bonus and sign up bonus to $200 each (Doctor of Credit’s post).  I was an existing member, so I was not eligible for the $200 sign up bonus, but my wife (Laura) was not a member of Capital One Shopping.  I sent her my referral link on December 10 and she signed up for an account that same day.  We needed a few things for our home, so she placed an order from Walmart and received the “Success! We’ve received your order and are processing your rewards now” email.

Fast forward a month and neither of us had received the $200 referral or $200 sign up bonus.  I searched the Capital One Shopping portal for a contact button and finally found the customer service email (help@capitaloneshopping.com).  I sent them an email detailing the issue on January 11 at 6:58am…
