Allett EcoThin Original Wallet (Hold Cash and up to 24 Credit Cards)

Updated – 2/14/2015 at 5PM PST: Added more versions of the Allett (leather, velcro, and women’s versions) to the bottom of the post.

Good evening everyone, let me tell you about a cool wallet that I learned about at my recent OC Meetup.  As we discussed gift cards and credit cards, an attendee pulled out his wallet and started looking for a specific card.  Then another attendee pulled out his wallet and noticed that they had the same wallet.  They both had the Allett, a super thin wallet capable of holding cash and up to 24 credit cards.  I decided to buy an Allett and test it out myself (Amazon).

Random News: 3 New AMEX Offers, Staples Gift Card and Paper Deals, and Office Depot AMEX Gift Card Deal

Good evening from Washington, DC.  I had a great time at FTU Advanced this weekend at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City hotel.  I appreciate meeting readers and other miles and points addicts over the past few days.  I will be at TravelCon on February 28 (maybe speaking) and attending FTU Advanced in San Diego on March 6-8.  I’m not sure tickets are still for sale, but if you bought one, I look forward to seeing you there.

Anyway, there are 3 new AMEX Offers that showed up in my account.

Random News: AMEX Small Business Saturday, New Serve Card Design, BankAmeriCard Deals, and Staples Easy Rebates

Good morning everyone, I had a great time at the OC Meetup yesterday afternoon.  It was a great mix of new and old friends/readers.  I was even given a giant birthday cupcake by my friend from Long Beach.  My birthday isn’t until November 27 (Thanksgiving Day), but I gladly appreciate early birthday presents.  I will probably have the next OC Meetup on Saturday, December 13, time and place TBD.  I will post more info closer to the date.

Other than my birthday being less than 2 weeks away, the other major news item that was announced today was enrollment for Small Business Saturday (November 29) has begun.  If you log into your AMEX online account, you should see the Small Business Saturday offer at the very top of your offer list.  You can add the offer to all of your AMEX credit and charge cards.

If you have never participated in Small Business Saturday, the concept is simple.  For every $10 or more purchase you make at a qualifying small business on Small Business Saturday (November 29), you will receive a $10 statement credit.  You can receive up to 3 $10 statement credits per registered AMEX card.  From my understanding, you can use the same AMEX card to make all 3 purchases at the same small business.  See the link below to see which merchants qualify for Small Business Saturday.

Which Credit Card

My Credit Card Affiliate Links will be Removed on Monday, November 10 at 12PM CT

Good evening everyone, I wish I were here with better news, but unfortunately on the eve of #westcoastdo, I received an email from my credit card affiliate network that my Barclays credit card links will be deactivated Monday, November 10 at 12PM CT.  Shortly after noon, I will remove all Barclays credit card links from my blog.

Over the last year and a half, I have slowly and steadily lost all the great credit card links, from Chase, Citi, American Express, Bank of America, Discover, US Bank, and now Barclays.  With the loss of Barclays, I will only have links for secured credit card, which I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.  The loss of credit card affiliate links is probably a result of very low approval numbers (I am too small for the banks to bother keeping) and the manufactured spending topics I often discuss probably didn’t help either.

It is kind of ironic, really.  When I started my blog in May 2013, I had all the great credit card links and none of the site traffic.  Fast forward to today, the situation has completely swapped.  In a few days, I will have no credit card links and much greater site traffic.  The timing was terrible, but also a blessing.   Continue reading
