Hotel Credit Card Free Night Certificate Comparison Table

Good morning everyone!  With the impending demise of the “old” US Bank Club Carlson Credit Card, I thought it would be a good idea to compare the “new” Club Carlson free night certificate with other free night certificates from other co-brand hotel credit cards.  Here is the table comparing Intercontinental, Hyatt, Marriott, Club Carlson, Hilton, Fairmont, and Starwood:

March App-O-Rama Updates: US Airways, British Airways, Alaska Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and FlexPerks AMEX

Good morning everyone, happy April Fool’s Day.  No pranks today for me, I don’t have time for those.  Before I went on my RV road trip, I did a mini App-O-Rama in mid March and it’s been almost 2 weeks, so I can now share all my results.  If you have been reading my blog for a while, you probably know about my ongoing battle with Barclays.  I have applied for 5-6 Barclays credit cards over the last 2 years or so and have been denied every time.  Since the Barclays US Airways Credit Card is going away very soon, I thought I would try for that card one more time.  The sign up bonus is 50,000 US Airways miles (now those are 50,000 American Airlines miles) after your first purchase.

Ebags AMEX Offer and Updates Regarding US Bank FlexPerks, Citi American Airlines, and Chase Southwest Airlines Retention Offers

Good evening everyone, I had an interesting day today.  I took my cousin’s Australia Shepherd puppy for a walk this morning and grabbed the wrong set of keys.  I was locked out of the apartment for a few hours and had a very interest afternoon with stops at the Apple Store (buying a Mophie portable battery), Panera Bread (their table-side ordering is amazing, btw), and Petco (lunch for the pup).  Now that I am safely/warmly back inside, here are some random news to share.

There is an AMEX Offer for Ebags.com where you can get a $15 statement credit after making a purchase of $75 or more.  I noticed that Ebags sells gift cards online, but there is nothing on Gift Card Granny regarding buy back rate.

My Review of FTU Advanced San Diego and Tacos el Gordo

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.  Myself and approximately 200 other miles and points “collectors” gathered at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego this past weekend.  We had several speakers from Boarding Area (Greg @ Frequent Miler, Ben/Lucky @ One Mile at a Time, Gary @ View from the Wing, Scott @ Travel Codex, and Stefan @ Rapid Travel Chai) along with Mathew @ Upgrd.  The event began Friday night with a cocktail reception out on the lawn and it was my first chance to meet the other attendees.  I must confess, I had appetizers in the Regency Club before the reception and went back afterwards for some dessert.  The food in the Regency Club was very fresh and the desserts were delicious.
