Convert Citi American Airlines Executive to Double Cash and Downgrade American Express Blue Cash Preferred to Everyday

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your weekend is off to a great start.  I have some credit card news I want to share with you.  Earlier this month, my $450 annual fee posted on my Citi American Airlines Executive Credit Card.  Since I didn’t want to pay the $450 annual fee to keep the card, I called Citi to see if I could convert that credit card into a Citi Double Cash Credit Card.

The Amazing Powers of the American Airlines Twitter Team (Reschedule Flights + Golf Carts)

Good morning everyone, yesterday I received the dreaded Schedule Change email from American Airlines and was hoping the change would be minor.  I am flying to Chicago in mid October for the Chicago Seminars and picked the American Airlines flights that had the best arrival and departure times.  I would land in mid afternoon in Chicago on Friday and then depart Sunday evening after the Chicago Seminars were over.  Here is my original itinerary that was booked in April.

Random News: Barclays AA Aviator Chip & PIN Credit Card, $20 Target College Registry Gift Cards, and Best Western Promo

(Hat Tip to my friend Bill for the Barclays credit card update and Target gift card update)

Good evening everyone, I have a few random news items to share with you.  First off, it looks like Barclays is sending out new Chip and PIN cards to Barclays American Airlines Aviator Red Credit Card holders.  When you activate your new credit card online, you are given the option to set up a 4 digit PIN (please don’t pick 1234).  This is the first time I have heard of this feature and I wonder if Barclays will send out other replacement credit cards with Chip and PIN technology.  To request the new credit card technology, call up Barclays and ask them to send you a new card.  If they refuse or tell you to wait patiently, you can tell them your current card is damaged and ask for a replacement card.

American Express Changes: 250 Membership Reward Points = 200 British Airways / Iberia Avios and Plenti Transfers

Good evening everyone, I was just looking through my recent American Express Platinum Charge Card statement when I saw major changes to the Membership Reward Program.  Effective October 1, the transfer rate to British Airways and Iberia will change from 1,000 Membership Reward Points = 1,000 British Airways / Iberia Avios to 250 Membership Reward Points = 200 British Airways / Iberia Avios.  This is terrible news since British Airways is arguably one of the best transfer partners for Membership Reward Points.
