Good morning everyone. I stumbled on this a few days ago when I was using the Citi app to check on my Citi credit cards. I found out that you can request a credit limit increase instantly through the Citi app and there is no hard pull (which would affect your credit score). All 3 of my credit reports are frozen and I was able to request credit limit increases on all 5 of my Citi credit cards (and all 5 requests were instantly approved). Here’s how… Sign into the Citi app, select the credit card you want to request a credit limit increase, and then click the Expand button beneath the card art.

Good afternoon everyone. A year ago, I wrote AwardWallet Feature I Wish Existed: Keep Checking for Account Balance Changes. In that post, I wished there was a way for AwardWallet to constantly check a specific airline / hotel account to see when miles or points posted. This is super important if you transfer points from a transferable points currency (Chase Ultimate Rewards, American Express Membership Rewards, Citi Thank You Points, Capital One Points, or Marriott Bonvoy) in the hopes of booking an award flight before the award space disappears. Some transfers are instant, while others may take several hours or several days.
I am happy to report that AwardWallet took my idea and added the feature to AwardWallet. Here is a blog post describing Balance Watch and how the feature works:
“Balance Watch will monitor a loyalty account to let you know as soon as your points arrive. Once activated, AwardWallet will check your balance up to twenty-four times per day and send you a desktop, mobile, and email notification as soon as a change is detected.”
Targeted Spending Offers for US Bank Radisson Rewards Business & Personal Credit Cards
Good morning everyone, happy Friday! I’m heading to Las Vegas this weekend to do some hiking and watch the Golden Knights NHL game. I hope you have a fun filled weekend ahead too! Yesterday, I received 2 targeted spending offers from US Bank regarding my US Bank Radisson Rewards Business Credit Card and US Bank Radisson Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card. I will go through both offers and tell you what I think of each offer. If you received different targeted offers, please let me know in the comments. Without further ado, let’s go over the targeted spending offer on my US Bank Radisson Rewards Business Credit Card.
After spending $2,000 on the credit card, I will earn 3 bonus points per dollars, up to 5,000 bonus points. I would need to spend an extra $1,666.67 to max out the 5,000 bonus points. In total, I would need to spend $2,000 + $1,666.67 = $3,666.67 and earn 23,333 points ( [5 x 2,000 = 10,000] + [8 x 1,666.67 = 13,333], 10,000 + 13,333 = 23,333). If I spent $3,666.67 on my Citi Double Cash Credit Card, I would earn $73.33. So $73.33 cash back vs. 23,333 Radisson Rewards Points. According to Frequent Miler’s Reasonable Redemption Value table, Radisson Rewards Points are worth 0.38 cents per point, so 23,333 points is worth $88.67, or only $15.34 more than the cash back. I’m currently sitting on a stash of 146k Radisson Rewards Points, so I do not want/need any more points. If you value Radisson Rewards points at more than 0.38 cents per point, you might be interested in this offer.
10,000 Anniversary Points & Annual Fees Post at Different Times for Citi AT&T Access More
Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day. A quick thank you to everyone who entered my Valentine’s Day Swag Giveaway – winners will be announced soon. I have written about the Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card many times before (Convert any Citi Card to the Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card) and I currently hold 3 AT&T Access More Credit Cards (1 original and 2 converted). Recently, I noticed something strange regarding when the 10,000 bonus Citi Thank You Points post to your account (after you spend $10,000+ on the card) and when the $95 annual fee posts. For all of my other credit cards, the anniversary points or free night certificate usually post the same month the annual fee is billed, thus signalling the start of a new cardmember year. However, I noticed that the Citi AT&T Access More Credit Cards have a cardmember year (where the $95 annual fee posts at the beginning of a new cardmember year) and when the 10,000 bonus Citi Thank You Points post at the end of your “12 month spending year”. I’m sorry if this sounds super confusing, hopefully it makes sense by the end of this post.
I have 3 Citi AT&T Access More Credit Cards and here are when the 10,000 bonus Citi Thank You Points posted to my account:
- Card 1 (ending in 73) posted on February 6, 2019
- Card 2 (ending in 70) posted on January 4, 2019
- Card 3 (ending in 30) posted on June 6, 2018 (and previously on June 6, 2017)
How Right (or Wrong) Were My 2018 Travel Predictions?
Good afternoon everyone. In mid January 2018, I wrote My Unlikely, But Entertaining 2018 Travel Predictions. I did not look at that post until yesterday, so it was fun to look at the predictions I had made. I will go through my 2018 predictions and see how well I did. Since my memory is not that great, please correct me if I am wrong on any of these. In a few days, I will share my probably equally as unlikely but equally as entertaining 2019 travel predictions, so check back for that post. Without further ado, here were my 2018 predictions and the results:
Airlines
- After the Virgin America merger, Alaska Airlines will add new routes to Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean (Correct! According to Alaska Airlines’ website, they did add several new routes of Mexico City from SFO, LAX, and SAN. Unfortunately, there were no new routes to Canada or the Caribbean.)
- Delta Airlines will introduce cash and miles award tickets, then American Airlines and United Airlines will follow suit (Wrong! Looks like none of the big 3 airlines added “cash + miles” award tickets.)
- Southwest Airlines will increase their Transfarency by automatically keeping track of travel funds in each account (Wrong! You still need to manually track your travel funds.)
- JetBlue will add new routes along the West Coast and maybe to Hawaii (Wrong! JetBlue did add new routes along the East Coast, but nothing new on the West Coast.)
- Singapore Airlines will allow you to book United Airlines awards online (Correct! Singapore Airlines added the ability to book award flights on United Airlines in February.)
- British Airways will bring back the 4,500 Avios award price in the United States (Wrong! Sadly, the 4,500 British Airways Avios pricing band is still not available in the US.)
