A Travel Hacker Wish List for Santa (Reader Ideas Needed)

Good afternoon everyone, here is the filler post of the weekend. Enjoy!

Usually this time of year, we look back at the predictions we made at the end of 2015 or early 2016 and see how many things we got right and how many things we got wrong. It is usually a little depressing to look back and see how much has changed (for the worse) over the last 12 months. I wanted to put a positive spin on the predictions this year and turn it into a Christmas wish list for Santa. If Santa had the power to make travel hacker lives better, what would you wish for?

Grant’s wish list (in no particular order):

  • I want Chase to create a “no 5/24 rule day” so everyone can be approved for the Chase credit card they really want (I have my eye on the Chase Sapphire Reserve Credit Card).
  • I want the JPMorgan Chase Ritz Carlton Credit Card to change the $300 travel credit (incidentals only) to match the Chase Sapphire Reserve Credit Card $300 travel credit (paid airfare and hotels).

New Targeted US Bank FlexPerks AMEX Offer: Spend $1,750, Earn 1,500 Bonus FlexPoints

Good morning everyone, happy Wednesday.  I apologize for writing about another targeted spending offer from US Bank.  US Bank loves to send me targeted spending offers and I hope I am not the only one who receives these offers.  For the record, I have 6 US Bank credit cards and I have now received spending offers on 4 of them (all for purchases made in November and December).  As a refresher, here are my 3 most recent posts regarding targeted spending offers from US Bank:

Today’s targeted spending offer is on my US Bank FlexPerks AMEX Credit Card.  After I spend $1,750 on the credit card (between November 1 and December 31), I will receive 1,500 bonus US Bank FlexPoints.  This offer isn’t great, but it isn’t terrible either.  Unfortunately, I do not think earning an extra 1,500 FlexPoints is worth spending $1,750 on the credit card.

Targeted US Bank Club Carlson Personal & Business Credit Card Offers

Good morning everyone!  Yesterday, I received targeted offers from US Bank for my personal and business Club Carlson credit cards.  The offers are not amazing (for me, at least), but you may have better offers, so check your mail box.  The first offer is for my US Bank Club Carlson Personal Credit Card.  I can earn up to 2,000 bonus Club Carlson points for spending $2,000 at retail stores and restaurants from November 1 through December 31.

Targeted US Bank FlexPerks Bonus Offer by Mail; Transfer FlexPoints using Credit Card Number

Good morning everyone.  A few days ago, I wrote Targeted US Bank FlexPerks Offer: Spend $500, Earn 2,000 Bonus FlexPoints.  In that post, I showed the targeted offer I received by looking at my US Bank FlexPerks bonus portal online.  Yesterday, I received the same offer by mail (spend $500 between November 1 and December 31 to receive 2,000 bonus FlexPoints).  I have the Visa Signature and American Express version of the US Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Credit Card, but both offers are for my Visa Signature card.  I haven’t received any offers for my American Express card, but there is still time to receive an offer by mail or email before the promotion starts on November 1.  If you have more than 1 US Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Credit Card, have you received an offer for both cards?  Any data points would be great.  Thank you.

Amazon Prime Now Restaurants: $10 Off $20 First Order + Free Delivery (Select Cities)

Good morning everyone, greetings from rainy San Francisco.  Yesterday, I received a postcard in the mail for a new service called Amazon Restaurants.  I almost threw the postcard away, but then I looked more closely at it and saw that it said $10 off your first order using promo code DINELOCAL10.  I decided to check it out and place a dummy booking to see what the ordering process was like.  To see if your home or work zipcode is in an Amazon Restaurant city, click here and type in your zipcode.  Apparently this service is only available to Amazon Prime members, so if you are not a Amazon Prime member, you can sign up for a 30 day free trial.
