Real-Time Rewards Not Working on my US Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards Credit Card

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.  This post will probably not help most people, but if you have the US Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards Credit Card, like I do, you might appreciate this post.  Long story short, I earned the $500 Cash Rewards sign up bonus and wanted to redeem the sign up bonus.  I am a big fan of Real-Time Rewards and have used it many times with my US Bank Altitude Reserve Credit Card.  In the US Bank Rewards Portal, I enrolled in the Real-Time Rewards program, selected the $25 minimum purchase amount and checked the box to enroll all categories.

Sign Up Bonus Posting Speeds for Capital One Spark Miles & US Bank Triple Cash Rewards Business Credit Cards

Good morning everyone, happy Friday!  I hope you had a great Veteran’s Day Holiday yesterday.  Last month, I applied for 2 business credit cards and I wanted to share the details of how quickly the sign up bonuses posted for each credit card.  Up first, let’s talk about the Capital One Spark Miles Business Credit Card, which is currently offering 50,000 miles after spending $4,500 in 3 months.  Up next, I will cover the US Bank Business Triple Cash Rewards Credit Card, which is currently offering $500 cash back after spending $4,500 in 5 months.

US Bank Business Triple Cash Credit Card Application Process & Welcome Documents

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  2 days ago, I wrote Capital One Spark Miles Business Credit Card Application Process & Welcome Documents.  2 weeks ago, I also applied for the US Bank Business Triple Cash Credit Card.  My application was not instantly approved, so I called the US Bank business credit card application status / reconsideration department and asked if I could move some credit from my existing US Bank business credit cards in order to be approved for my new credit card.  The rep said that US Bank did not reallocate credit limits and when I called on October 7, the rep said the credit department was still working on applications from October 1, so 6 days behind.  6 days later, on October 13, my application was approved.

Here is what the front and back of the credit card looks like.  I am not a fan of the mixture of vertical and horizontal elements on the front of the card; and the back of the card looks to simple and a little boring.  It also looks like there is something missing from the bottom left corner on the back.  In this post, I will share details of the application process and the welcome documents I received from US Bank.

Should You Upgrade to the US Bank Altitude Go Credit Card?

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  I just received this email from US Bank letting me know that I could upgrade my US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card to the US Bank Altitude Go Credit Card.  You might get a targeted email like the one below, but if you do not, you can always call the phone number on the back of your US Bank Cash Plus and ask to product change to the US Bank Altitude Go.  Let’s see if the upgrade makes sense.

US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card Changes to Foreign Transaction Fees (Effective October 1, 2021)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your Fourth of July Weekend is going well.  I was reviewing my recent statement from my US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card when I spotted this “IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT” about foreign transaction fees.  The statement doesn’t tell you anything about the change, so you need to look at the insert that comes with your paper statement or download the digital insert online to find out what is changing.

The digital insert says that effective October 1, 2021, the foreign transaction fee will be:

  • 3% of each foreign purchase transaction or foreign ATM advance transaction in U.S. Dollars
  • 3% of each foreign purchase transaction or foreign ATM advance transaction in Foreign Currency

Here is the backside of the digital insert that says you can reject the change by contacting US Bank, but that will result in US Bank closing your Cash Plus Credit Card.

I found the current terms for the Cash Plus Credit Card and it currently says “2% of each foreign purchase transaction or foreign ATM advance transaction in U.S. Dollars.”  It looks like effective October 1, 2021, that will increase from 2% to 3%.

The Cash Plus Credit Card is not a good card to use internationally or to make purchases at international websites.  If you plan to make international purchases, use a credit card that has no foreign transaction fees, like the US Bank Altitude Reserve Credit Card.  If you have any questions about this change, please leave a comment below.  Have a great Fourth of July everyone!
