US Bank Cash Plus Q3 Categories: Any MS Opportunities?

Good afternoon everyone.  I was recently approved for a US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card (still waiting for the card to arrive in the mail).  However, the credit card already shows up on my US Bank online account with a link to enroll in Q3 cash back categories.  This is my first time looking at US Bank’s cash back categories and here are my thoughts on the enrollment process and the cash back categories.

My Thoughts on my Younger Brother’s First App-O-Rama (2 out of 3 Credit Cards Approved)

Good morning everyone, my younger brother (a recent UCLA graduate with a masters in engineering) had no credit cards 2 weeks ago.  I would often get text messages from him late at night asking me to buy something for him on Amazon or to pay for his apartment’s electricity bill.  He would then Venmo money to me for the exact amount that I paid.  He would argue that he was helping me earn “points” and would guilt trip me into helping him.  From a profit point of view, the “points” I would earn would be less profitable than 1 $500 VGC, therefore not a big deal to me.  Graduation Throwing Caps and Credit Cards

My Chase Freedom, Discover It, and Citi Dividend Q3 MS Strategy

Good morning everyone, I just updated my Chase Freedom vs. Discover It vs. Citi Dividend 5% Cash Back Card Comparison page and thought I would share my Q3 strategy.  If you want to learn more about each card and activate the quarterly cash back bonuses, click the above link.

For Q3, Chase is offering 5% cash back at gas stations and Kohl’s.  Some gas stations (and convenient stores classified as gas stations) sell VGCs and PayPal My Cash Cards.  Each gas station has different rules, so you may have to try a few different places before you will be able to find one that accepts credit cards.  Kohl’s also sells a variety of gift cards and VGCs.  Most Kohl’s stores carry $50 and $100 VGCs, but some carry $200 VGCs.  You may need to check out a few stores to find the best GCs.

Epic RV Road Trip from Los Angeles to Denver thanks to TransferCar

Good evening from St. George, Utah.  This is day 2 of my epic RV road trip from Los Angeles to Denver, made possible by TransferCar’s $1 per rental day service.  I wrote about TransferCar a few weeks ago here: Get Free One Way Car or RV Rentals with TransferCar.

I promise to write more about the service and my experience, but for now, I wanted to share some pics from my trip.  Here is my 27 foot RV rental.  It is not the huge RV (thank goodness), but it is somewhat tricky to drive.

My Review of FTU Advanced San Diego and Tacos el Gordo

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.  Myself and approximately 200 other miles and points “collectors” gathered at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay in San Diego this past weekend.  We had several speakers from Boarding Area (Greg @ Frequent Miler, Ben/Lucky @ One Mile at a Time, Gary @ View from the Wing, Scott @ Travel Codex, and Stefan @ Rapid Travel Chai) along with Mathew @ Upgrd.  The event began Friday night with a cocktail reception out on the lawn and it was my first chance to meet the other attendees.  I must confess, I had appetizers in the Regency Club before the reception and went back afterwards for some dessert.  The food in the Regency Club was very fresh and the desserts were delicious.
