Uber is Cheap and Easy in Panama City and Lima

Good morning everyone, greetings from Cuzco, Peru. I’m on my way toward Machu Picchu today, but I wanted to share my experience with Uber in Panama City, Panama, and Lima, Peru. First things first, the US Dollar is one of the primary currencies of Panama and is on par with the Panamanian Balboa. This makes it easy to calculate how much things cost, including Uber.

California Zephyr Part 3: Amtrak Lounge Car, Snack Bar & Stunning Views

Good morning everyone, here is the last part of my California Zephyr Amtrak trip. I will put together a summary post with links to all previous parts in a few minutes. In this post, I will show you pictures of the lounge car, the snack bar, and some stunning views of Mother Nature from the train.

The lounge car is the place to be. If you enjoy staring out the window at the beauty of nature, then you will definitely want to get to the lounge car early to secure a table. The tables comfortable seat 4 adults, but I saw a few tables with a few more people squished together. The tables are open to all passengers on the train, including coach, roomette, and bedroom passengers. Like I said, get there early before all the tables fill up.

Travel Predictions for 2016 Part 2: Credit Cards and MS

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you enjoyed my insightful/crazy ramblings in Travel Predictions for 2016 Part 1: Airlines and Hotels. If you liked that post, you will surely love my crazy predictions about credit cards and MS. Full disclosure, I wrote most of this post on my iPhone standing in front of a dryer at my local laundromat, so the train of thought might be kind of strange. I apologize. Without any further ado, let’s get started!

Credit Cards

Chase – with the loss of Amtrak and the addition of Singapore Airlines in 2015, I think we will see some more changes to Chase’s transfer partners in 2016. I think we will see some more international airlines added (like the Citi Thank You Points program). A few guesses? Air Canada, Qantas, Air China, and Lufthansa (insert your favorite international airline). Chase Ultimate Rewards will continue to transfer 1:1 to all programs and there will be no transfer bonuses. I think there will be a newsworthy announcement for the Chase Sapphire Preferred, maybe adding free Gogo WiFi like the US Bank FlexPerks Credit Card or perhaps a new 3x category to compete with Citi Premier/Prestige Credit Cards. What about our beloved Chase Ink Bold/Plus Business Cards? I am worries that the 5x category might change to something less lucrative or the yearly cap might be lowered. I also predict Chase will launch a completely new travel rewards credit card in 2016. Maybe the Airbnb/Uber Credit Card? Lastly, I hope Chase loosens up on the 5/24 rule or completely eliminates the rule altogether.

Uber to the Rescue after taking Wrong Airport Shuttle; TravelCon Las Vegas Details Announced

Good morning everyone. I am writing to you from beautiful Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport South San Francisco, which is not to be confused with Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport Waterfront (which is located South of San Francisco Airport). This here lies the problem, or rather, the problem that I ran into last night as I attempted to take the correct airport shuttle to the correct Embassy Suites hotel. As you can probably guess, I got on the wrong airport shuttle. Instead of taking the airport shuttle back to the airport, waiting for the correct airport shuttle to arrive, and then drive to the other Embassy Suites, I decided to request an UberX ride from one Embassy Suites to the other Embassy Suites.
